Description: Whilst carrying out cargo STS discharge operations a suspicious device was seen attached to the hull of a vessel at anchor. A nearby vessel assisted in taking pictures of
the device – according to some reports the device was spotted after the STS operation when the hull raised higher in the water. This would indicate that it was placed by a dive team. The Iraqi military later confirmed that the device – confirmed as a mine
– was defused by the Iraqi Navy two days after being spotted. All safe.
