Description: A tanker sailing out from Bonny Offshore Terminal was approached by a skiff with 5 armed persons onboard on the edge of the Nigerian EEZ. The skiff came within 50m of the
vessel. The tanker increased her speed and carried out evasive manoeuvres and escaped. All safe.
The threat remains very high in the area as pirates will likely remain in the area and attempt to attack another vessel.
