Description: A gas tanker on route out from Bonny was approached by a speedboat. The speedboat came to within 3nm but stopped when the escort vessel intervened as the gas tanker increased her speed to nearly 20kts. All safe and vessel continued
her voyage with minimal diversion.
The threat remains very high in the area with pirates likely to attack again within the next 48 hours.
