Description: Tanker sailing through Gulf of Aden reported 6 fast moving boats with 5 or 6 persons onboard each one. 2 of the boats quickly crossed the vessel’s path and a 3rd
boat stopped directly in front of the vessel at a distance of approx. 1.5nm. Remaining 3 boats moved towards the vessel as well. Vessel blew its whistle and the embarked security team showed their weapons. Vessel carried out evasive manoeuvres and increased
its speed to move away from the boats. The boats came to 1nm from the vessel but then stopped. All safe.
