Event: Community Action – Threat to shut down company offices and operations

Location: Ugbokodo-Okpe Community, Okpe LGA, Delta State, Nigeria
  
Description: Protesters from Ugbokodo-Okpe community have given the oil companies Heritage Oil Ltd and Seplat Petroleum a seven day ultimatum to meet their demands or have their operations shut
down. The protesters’ demands include greater local employment, scholarships and greater opportunities for local women. Protest is remaining peaceful, with protesters chanting songs outside the company offices. No response from the companies as of 1600hrs
