1. Number of containers lost at sea falls, but safety risk remains
Based on data received over a 12-year period, the WSC has estimated that, on average, a total of 1,382 containers are lost at sea each year. However, in their latest update, published on 10 July 2020, they also confirmed that the three-year moving average is in decline. 2. DP World tipped to buy out Shreyas Shipping and Logistics
Dubai-headquartered DP World is being tipped to buy Shreyas Shipping and Logistics and freight forwarder Avana Global Logistek. 3. India allows foreign seafarers to sign off at its ports

4. 13 crew kidnapped from tanker off Benin
According to the ship’s manager Alison Management, 13 out of 19 Ukrainian and Russian crewmembers onboard the vessel have been taken hostage by the pirates. The ship was adrift with limited manpower following the attack. 5. Fleet clear-out at Doriko
This week South Korea’s Doriko is slashing its fleet significantly. 8. Greece’s Piraeus Port Posts Positive Financial Results For 2019

10. OOCL Cancels Raft Of Asia-Europe Sailings During Height Of Peak Season
