Dear Members / Friends
We are absolutely delighted to have received following from KVH within minutes of our appeal, would Inmarsat help us too, can we all join our efforts?
…………
Dear Kuba,
In response to your email, I have instructed my team that as of today, there will be no charge for calling to the Philippines on any KVH Tracphone min-VSAT from anywhere in the world. We will maintain this free call policy during the emergency. We are also offering free Filipino newspapers from our Newslink group so that they can keep abreast of the situation. All they need to do is give us their email address and we will send them free Tagalog digital newspapers (this works even for non-KVH customers).
We will be putting out a press release, but I thought you might be able to get the word out faster through your organization. The free calls will be for company phones as well as for crew calling phones. If the crew currently use a pre-paid KVH calling card, the toll rate will be zero.
Let us know if there is anything else we can do.
Best Regards,
Martin

This is excellent and much appreciate your initiative. A message has been sent to all GlobalMET members in the Philippines. Those in Manila should be OK, but I fear for the National Maritime Polytechnic in Tacloban. Keep up the good work.
Kind regards
