Description: The Ghana Navy have reported that they “warded off pirates” on 2 speed boats who had approached a Ghana-flagged fishing vessel. All safe on the fishing vessel.
Analysis: This is the first reported incident in Ghana waters since June 2021, and the first notable piracy incident offshore in Gulf of Guinea since July this year. Vessels approaching
Lomé or waiting for berthing schedules in regional ports should avoid this area.
