5. Korean Shipbuilding Industry takes 74% of Global Ship Orders in Feb returning to 1st Place

Korea returned as the world’s No. 1 country by beating China in competition for taking ship orders in February. Global ship orders came in at 2.1 million CGT in February, said Clarkson Research, a British shipbuilding and shipping market analysis agency on March 7. 6. BW Offshore and SwitchH2 develop green ammonia floater concept

The so-called NH3 FPSO concept is expected to be built through the conversion of an existing very large crude carrier or a dedicated newbuild vessel. 7. UN buys Euronav VLCC as operation to move oil from decaying FSO gets moving

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has found a solution of sorts to a pressing environmental concern off the coast of Yemen. 8. DP World To Install First High-Bay Container Storage System at Pusan Terminal

Global port operator DP World has announced the first commercial installation of its innovative BOXBAY high-bay storage system at its container terminal in Pusan, South Korea. Known as BOXBAY, the system is an intelligent High Bay Storage (HBS) system developed by DP World and industrial engineering specialists, SMS Group, through their joint venture Boxbay FZCO, which was established in 2016. 10. Baltic index climbs to 11-week high, led by capesizes

The Baltic Exchange’s main sea freight index rose to an 11-week high on Thursday as rates across larger vessel segments extended gains, led by capesize vessel segment.
