InterManager President explains how the new General Principles of Conduct and Action will raise shipmanagement standards

The President of InterManager, the international trade association for third party and in-house ship managers, is set to outline how the association’s new General Principles of Conduct and Action for the international shipmanagement sector will raise standards across the industry.

InterManager President Mark O’Neil, CEO of Columbia Group, will give a presentation to the Crew Connect Global conference in Manila, Philippines, where he will explain the General Principles to industry stakeholders and outline next steps.

Mr O’Neil commented: “These new industry-wide Principles reflect the fact that InterManager members are committed to achieving high standards in providing their wide range of services to the global shipping industry. Our General Principles will raise the standard of international ship management and the services of associated suppliers. As professionals we must always aspire to improve and share knowledge.”

InterManager’s General Principles of Conduct and Action sets the collective principles that all InterManager members should follow and is regarded as vital to their success in reaching the highest standards of ship operations. InterManager members have committed to undertaking an initial self-assessment in Spring 2024. Thereafter will follow periodic, confidential audits by a third party to assess where improvements can be achieved. The General Principles apply to all InterManager members.
