2. Singapore completes first methanol bunkering, learnings to be presented to IMO. 3. INTERCARGO warns against complacency as liquefaction remains greatest contributor to deaths in dry bulk sector. Cargo liquefaction still remains the greatest contributor to loss of life associated with bulk carrier losses while grounding remains the main cause of ship losses, according to the recently published Bulk Carrier Casualty Report 2013-2022 from INTERCARGO. Emissions insights could cut EU-mandated carbon costs of shipping by 50% LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) and Siglar Carbon, a maritime emissions analytics company, have announced an agreement to enable customers to evaluate the different carbon options for cargo programmes via Workspace.The agreement will combine Siglar’s emissions insights with LSEG’s industry-leading European carbon markets and industry emissions analytics to help charterers, traders, brokers and ship owners understand, predict and improve the carbon consequence of commercial shipping decisions and control the related carbon cost exposure. 6. Simon MĂžkster scores UK North Sea fixtures for PSV pair. 7. ‘Two-speed’ pattern emerges in global orderbook: Clarksons Clarksons Research has drilled down to show subscribers to its weekly newsletter the severely skewed global orderbook, and the ramifications for this unbalanced contracting in the years ahead. 8. X-Press Feeders fixes European green methanol supplies OCI Global will supply X-Press Feeders with green methanol at the port of Rotterdam from next year. The milestone agreement is the first green methanol deal with a feeder container carrier. X-Press Feeders will be the first common feeder operator with methanol fuelled vessels on the water in Europe. 9. 20 national waterways being developed for cargo, passenger movement: Centre. The government is developing 20 of the 26 national waterways found viable for cargo and passenger movement, the Lok Sabha was informed on Friday
Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal said that 26 of the existing 111 waterways in the country have been found viable for cargo and passenger movement. 10. Philippines seeks rice supply boost, may look to India.
