Fredriksen buying DOF stake in upcoming IPO DOF provided terms for the IPO on Monday in which it stated that Geveran Trading, a company indirectly controlled by trusts established by John Fredriksen for the benefit of his family, had undertaken to acquire NOK250m shares in the offering. 3. A2B-online books multi-fuel containerships in Turkey. European shortsea container carrier A2B-online has revealed an order at Sedef Shipyard in Turkey for the construction of two 650 teu eco-design containerships. 4. Monjasa adds to fleet with double tanker swoop The 2009-built Monjasa Thunder, formerly Solando, has been picked up for $18.5m from Donsotank Rederi, according to VesselsValue data. The 19,991 dwt vessel is currently inbound to Lomé, Togo, following a renewal survey, name change and subsequent hull blasting and painting. Baltic Workboats to build Damen CTVs in Estonia Damen Shipyards has teamed up with Baltic Workboats (BWB) to build one of its crew transfer vessel models in Estonia for use in the offshore wind market.Under an agreement between Damen and BWB, the Fast Crew Supplier 2710 will be built at BWB’s facility on Saaremaa Island in Estonia.The FCS 2710 is a versatile vessel and those built by BWB will undertake a range of duties in the North and Baltic seas. Maersk Secures Green Methanol Supply for Maiden Voyage of First Dual-Fuel Containership Danish shipping giant Maersk has secured the green methanol fuel for the maiden voyage of its first dual-fuel containership under construction in South Korea.Under an agreement, OCI Global (Euronext: OCI) will supply Maersk with the ISCC certified green biomethanol for the ship’s maiden voyage this summer to Northern Europe via the Suez Canal. 9. Shipping tax could yield $100 bln climate windfall The shipping industry emits 2.9% of the world’s greenhouse gases. It has also largely escaped taxation because what happens on the high seas is not in the jurisdiction of any single government.These two facts represent an opportunity.
