  Liverpool Seafarers Centre The Liverpool Seafarers Centre give a front-line service offering support to 50,000 seafarers passing through the Port of Liverpool each year. LSC works as an ambassador for the Port of the Liverpool. Our team adhere to the highest professional standards to ensure the Port of Liverpool and the maritime industry on Merseyside maintains its reputation as a friendly and caring port. This makes all the difference to the crew, who would otherwise struggle to find the time to travel to outreach centres.   At the Liverpool Seafarers Centre, crew welfare is our priority and our team of dedicated professionals and volunteers offer a wide range of support for both active and retired seafarers, from health and wellbeing to financial assistance.  Our centre in Liverpool, which opens daily, provides a warm and welcoming place ashore for seafarers to relax away from their working environment, place where they can socialise and relax.  And it’s not just in the Centre itself that we carry out our work. Equally important is the work of our Ship Welfare Visitors who visiting vessels to integrate with the crew, offering a listening ear to help combat isolation and loneliness. We help seafarers stay connected to their families back home through use of mobile phones, provide warm clothing and toiletries where needed and sometimes just some sweet treats to make them smile.    Liverpool Seafarers Centre, won the Positive Impact Award at the Mersey Maritime Industry Awards 2020 in March, helps 50,000 seafarers each year visiting Merseyside ports. It is a partnership between Apostleship of the Sea (Liverpool) and The Mersey Mission to Seafarers. In September 2019, LSC was awarded the world’s best seafarer centre at the International Seafarer Welfare Awards (ISWAN) as nominated and voted for by mariners themselves.
