Dear Members,
Maritime Champions Club- 35 145 crew changes
Please find below messages regarding Pooling Resources for Crew Changes sent to our members since last Wednesday:
Message No. 31
Dear Members
Aa/ There is an initiative from one of our members regarding crew changes of the Philippines Officers and ratings in Singapore.
Rather than sending PH Seafarers to Singapore by plane we were thinking about utilising a crew supply vessel or similar again overcoming crew change restrictions and perform crew change at sea in SG waters. Pleased to hear members views.
FYI there are currently 22 Cruise ships anchored in Manila Bay conducting crew changes.
Bb/ Question from one of our members:
We have to make a tough decision not to accept cadets on our vessels until the situation with the Covid-19 improves.
Although, it is too soon to know when we might have a drug that can treat the coronavirus. Most experts think a vaccine is likely to become available by mid-2021, i.e. a year from now.
How about the InterManager other members? Has anybody agreed to receive the cadets onboard this summer?
Cc/ We have received answer to question whether Members are happy to charge extra money for completing COVID 19 related paperwork. Answer was NO none of the members is doing that and actually many thought that this would not be appropriate in current climate.

AA/ Do any of you have any experience with crew changes which you could share
Bb/ Do you need crew changes in Angola and therefore would be interested in pooling our resources in this country?

Dear Capt. Kuba,
We have some positive news to share but please note this is purely verbal – off the record feedback that the visa issuance system will be active within 48hrs. In principal that would enable us to apply for incoming crew.
The start date is first accepted arrivals in expected on/after 7th July.
Reference the procedure and process we will have to wait for the official instructions from the authorities but we are ready to start preparations for documentation etc.
As per our contacts they do not expect quarantine restrictions for crew on arrival but via secure corridor to the ships (after testing). Actual procedures still to be circulated by the authorities.
We will know more in the next 24 hrs.
If you have any members that you would like us to provide crew change assistance for please have them email [email protected]
