110th IMarEST Annual Dinner, Guildhall, London.

The 110th Annual Dinner of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) will be held at Guildhall in the City of London on Friday 22 March 2013, and bring together over 500 marine professionals from around the globe.

The prestigious evening will be hosted by the IMarESTā€™s incoming 111th President, Andreas Chrysostomou, Chairman, Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), with television presenter and broadcaster Monty Halls, a former Royal Marines Officer, now an explorer and writer, as the after dinner speaker.

ā€œGuildhall, in the heart of the City of London, has been the City powerhouse since the twelfth century and it is a fitting venue for our 110th Annual Dinner, for IMarEST has been based within the ā€˜square mileā€™ throughout the major part of its long history,ā€ explains the Instituteā€™s Chief Executive, David Loosley.

ā€œThis is far from being an event solely for IMarEST members and their guests, we are eager to involve the whole of the maritime industry in recognition of the fact that London and the UK are home to more international ship-owners, operators and managers than any other location in the world. Our evening will be a celebration of this fact and an ideal opportunity for networking, set against a spectacular backdrop in a Grade 1 listed building used for glittering banquets in honour of visiting Heads of State and other dignitaries, royal occasions, and receptions for major historical anniversaries.ā€
