Description: The Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has issued a 7 day ultimatum for strike action to Chevron Nigeria Limited if they did not
“honour an agreement on workers’ welfare”. This is connected to an on-going dispute between Chevron Nigerian Limited, NUPENG, the Petroleum & Natural Gas Staff Association (PENGASSAN) and non-unionised workers.
The deadline for the ultimatum is the 7th August 2019 and will likely affect all oil terminals in Nigeria if it goes ahead.
UPDATE: NUPENG announced on 2nd August 2019 that strike action would be suspended following talks with Chevron Nigeria Limited.
