Description: Vessel reported as boarded by pirates and initial reports suggest crew safe but damage inflicted to vessel.
Update: Vessel sailing from Okwori field was approached by 1 speed boat. Alarm raised on VHF and crew mustered in citadel. Pirates boarded the vessel and stole valuables and destroyed some navigation equipment
on the bridge. Pirates then escaped. After about 2 hours, crew emerged from citadel. Nigerian Navy informed, and all safe on board.
Pirates are possibly still at sea and there is an elevated threat of attack in the area south of Bonny.
