Description: MDAT-GoG has reported that a vessel has been boarded by pirates, with two skiffs seen in the area.

 

UPDATE: Two Navy vessels (1 Nigerian, 1 Portuguese) approached the drifting containership. A Nigerian Navy team boarded the vessel and confirmed all clear. The crew had moved
to the citadel during the attack, and all confirmed as safe. Some communications equipment onboard had been damaged and crew belongings had been stolen. Vessel now under escort with Nigerian Navy vessel to Lagos.

 

THERE IS STILL A THREAT TO VESSELS IN THE AREA AS THE SKIFFS ARE LIKELY STILL CLOSE
