Description: MDAT-GoG have reported that a vessel was attacked in the Equatorial Guinea EEZ, approximately 83nm south-east of Bonny Fairway Buoy.

 

Update: Whilst sailing from Luba, the vessel broadcasted a distress call on VHF Ch.16, stating that the vessel was under attack from pirates. A tug was hijacked earlier on 5^th May 2019
in the same area, and it may have been used as a mother vessel to conduct this attack. As of 1640hrs UTC, vessel is sailing slowly on a south-easterly heading.
