Description: A containership on route from Lomé to Douala has been attacked. Based on AIS routing, the vessel carried out evasive manoeuvres during the attack, but is now stationary.
Crew are reportedly in the citadel.
UPDATE 1: The vessel is still drifting in the same position. A Russian Navy vessel is nearby – to be confirmed if they are carrying out a military response, or if any other military vessels are responding.
UPDATE 2: MDAT-GoG have confirmed that the attackers have left the vessel and the incident is over. The Russian Navy vessels provided support to the vessel.
