Description: Master of a vessel has reported a security incident whilst transiting through the Red Sea south west of Hodeidah. Authorities are investigating the report.

UPDATE 1: Whilst transiting with AIS turned off, Master reported a “loud bang accompanied by a flash” on the port bow of the vessel. Also reported were several more explosions
near Hodeidah. The vessel requested assistance and US Navy vessels USS Gravely and USS Laboon provided support. No damage was reported to the vessel. Whilst responding, USS Gravely shot down two anti-ship ballistic missiles which were also fired from Houthi-controlled
areas of Yemen. The merchant vessel then left the area and proceeded to her next port of call. All crew reported as safe.
