Description: The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has issued a 7 day ultimatum to the government of Nigeria to force international oil companies to allow stevedoring companies
and dockworkers into their operational areas. MWUN stated that if this was not met within 7 days (by 16
April 2021), the union “will have no option that to shut down all forms of operations at the ports, terminals, jetties and other cargo handling locations in the country to press home our demands”.
UPDATE: The strike action has been called off on 17 April.
