Description: A tanker on route to Lagos was approach by a speed boat with armed pirates onboard. The crew retreated to the citadel. The embarked Nigerian Navy guards showed their weapons
and fired 3 warning shots at the pirate boat which then escaped the area. All safe on board and vessel is continuing her sail to next port.
Pirates are still likely in the area so all vessels should exercise extreme vigilance in the area.
