Description: Gas tanker sailing from Tema into Nigeria was approached by a speed boat. Alarm was raised onboard, the gas tanker increased its speed to 16kts and the escort vessel responded.
Speed boat abandoned the attack once the escort vessel approached.
It is likely the same speed boat that later attacked and then boarded the tanker 30 minutes later in the same area (report sent this morning ref 01-051220).
