Description: A LNG tanker on route into Bonny, just before meeting its escort vessel, was approached by a skiff. The Master raised the alarm, switched off navigation lights and increased
the vessel’s speed to over 16kts. The skiff gave up the approach and departed. The gas tanker continued her voyage. All safe.
This is the second approach in 24 hours in the area, and pirates are still likely in the area.
