Description: A skiff with 8 armed persons in black on board approached on the starboard side a merchant vessel transiting to Lagos. The skiff then changed course towards
the merchant vessel and increased speed to 22kts. The alarm was raised and crew alerted. The embarked Nigerian Navy security team on board the merchant vessel were alerted and were ready to respond. The skiff then reduced its speed and departed. Vessel confirmed
as safe.
This is the second time in 2 weeks that an embarked armed Nigerian Navy team have responded to a threat to the merchant vessel.
