OIL AND GAS INFRASTRUCTURE DISRUPTION

Event: Pipeline Explosion

Date and Time: 0412hrs, 6 January 2021

Location: Oduoha community, Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers State, Nigeria

Description: A gas pipeline has exploded in Emohua LGA, Rivers State. The reason for the explosion is still to be confirmed and it has not yet been confirmed which company’s pipelines
have been affected as there are several in the area, including Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) and Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC).

With recent threats by militant groups to attack oil and gas infrastructure, deliberate sabotage cannot be ruled out. ARC will update once further information is received.
