THREAT AGAINST OIL & GAS

Location: Niger Delta, Nigeria
Description: An established group known as “Reformed Niger Delta Avengers”
(RNDA) have declared support for the EndSARS protests taking place across Nigeria, and have stated that they are “ready to resume hostilities, attack oil and gas facilities if Federal Government did not meet the demands of protesting Nigerian youths”.
The group identified the upcoming Nigerian military operation “Crocodile Smile” and several oil and gas installations as possible targets, including the following:

Pipelines from Escravos – Warri – Kaduna

Chevron valve platform at Abiteye, Warri-South LGA, Delta State.

Shell underwater 48-inch pipeline from Clough Creek to Forcados Terminal

Escravos trans-Lagos pipeline linking Warri to Lagos

Bonny-Nembe Creek trunk pipeline at Bonny Export Terminal.
The group made the following demands:
- The release of N98 billion gas flare penalty fund to host oil communities through the leadership of the national chairman of HOSTCOM, Prince
Dr Mike Emuh. - The release and implementation of the 10,000 pipeline surveillance security contract job host communities.
The spokesperson for the group, “Major-General” Ezonebi stated: “The decision by the militant groups to support the protesting youths was based on the open inequality in the distribution of wealth
and development in the country.”
