Description: Pirates attacked the hopper dredger operating in the mouth of the Ramos river, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. A gun battle was fought between the pirates and the
embarked security personnel. During the exchange, 4 military personnel were killed. 3 crew members (2 Russian, 1 Indian) were kidnapped, leaving 5 crew behind onboard. 2 other security personnel were also left onboard unhurt.
