PROPOSED INDUSTRIAL ACTION EVENT

 

Event: Industrial Action – Dockworkers’ Strike

 

Date and Time: 0600hrs, Wednesday, 3rd July 2019

Location: All Ports, Nigeria

  

Description: Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, MWUN, has directed its members to withdraw services and shut down ports across the country over unpaid wages from international oil companies following
the expiry of their ultimatum on 25th June 2019. MWUN stated that the industrial action would continue “until all demands were met”.

 

Update: According to the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), normal port operations resumed on Sunday, 7th July 2019 and the strike is over.
