Event: Industrial Action – Warri Refinery shutdown due to protests
Date and Time: Ongoing since Wednesday, 3rd July 2019
Location: Warri Refinery, Ekpan, Uvwie LGA, Delta State, Nigeria
Description: Contract workers have protested and shut down Warri Refinery in Delta State over the alleged failure of NNPC’s management to offer the staff full employment contracts. Protesters state
that they will not disperse until the Managing Director of NNPC engages with them directly. Efforts by police and military personnel to move the protesters away have not been effective.
