INCREASED THREAT TO SHIPPING

Event: Report of increased threat to shipping

Date: Initial report received 13 June 2020; verified 14 June 2020.

Description: ARC received a report on 13 June 2020 that there was an increased threat of hijack in Togo and international waters this weekend. On 14 June 2020, this was confirmed by another source. Local Naval forces have also been put
on alert.

Analysis: Based on recent attack patterns, the increased threat of hijack towards shipping will likely be in Togo, Ghana or Ivory Coast waters and EEZs. All vessels in anchorages and further offshore should be more vigilant, particularly
if drifting offshore.

ARC will update if any further information is received.
