INCREASED THREAT TO SHIPPING
Event: Report of increased threat to shipping / Possible Pirate Activity

Description: Local Naval authorities have reported that a local fishing boat with a high powered outboard engine is currently offshore Ghana in the western area of Ghana EEZ. According
to local intelligence, the people onboard are not Ghanaians, and possibly involved in criminality/piracy.
All vessels offshore Ghana, and especially offshore Takoradi, should exercise extreme vigilance and increase watchkeeping onboard. Any suspicious activity should be reported to the relevant
maritime authorities.
