INCREASED THREAT TO SHIPPING
Event: Report of increased threat to shipping
Date: 21 March 2022
Description: MDAT-GoG have updated that there is an increased threat to shipping of piracy in the following area for the next 24-48 hours:
- 02°30’N, 005°00’E
- 02°30’N, 007°30’E
- 05°00’N, 007°30’E
- 05°00’N, 005°00’E
This area is centered around the southern area of the Niger Delta, including Brass and Bonny, until the southern edge of the Nigerian EEZ.
It is recommended that all vessels in the area remain extremely vigilant, heighten security onboard and, if possible, make use of available additional security services.
