Description: A tanker sailing out from Lomé to Bonny has been boarded deep offshore Benin by pirates. All crew are reported to have reached the citadel. Vessel is currently making just
over 1kt eastwards.

If pirates are not successful in kidnapping crew members, they will likely remain offshore and look for another target. All ships in the area should exercise extreme vigilance.

UPDATE 1: 15 pirates have been seen onboard from a helicopter that was deployed to the area. An Italian warship is on route to support and Benin authorities have requested support from Nigerian Navy
as well.

UPDATE 2: Vessel now reported as safe.
