INCIDENT OVER
Event: Hijack (Level I Incident)
Date and Time: 28 September 2017
Location: Nembe to Brass Waterways, Bayelsa, Nigeria
Position: 4°20’N, 06°14’E
Description: Pirates have hijacked and stolen a local passenger vessel in the waterways between Nembe and Brass, Nigeria. The pirates trailed the vessel until it dropped off its passengers before boarding
whilst firing shots into the air. They then dropped off the crew and went into the creeks taking the boat with them.
