Description: ARC received an initial report on 10th January that the tanker BARRETT was missing from Cotonou Anchorage. This has now been confirmed.
UPDATE: Owners Union Maritime have now confirmed that the vessel BARRETT was hijacked by pirates. The vessel’s whereabouts are currently unknown.
UPDATE: The tracking system on the BARRETT has been turned back on and owners have been informed. Tracking shows that she is now at Lagos Anchorage. Her latest positions since last night show that she has
approached Lagos from a south easterly position. Crew welfare unknown and status of cargo unknown.
