Description: A gas tanker sailing south was attacked and fired on by several persons onboard a speedboat. The attack lasted for about 45 minutes until the pirates gave up. The vessel
maintained her good speed and continued sailing south. All safe.
As the attack was unsuccessful, pirates will likely remain in the area. Therefore, the threat remains very high and all vessels should either avoid the area or increase vigilance and security on board.
