Description: MDAT-GoG have reported that a vessel was attacked by 2 speed boats. Embarked Navy guards “responded” and the speed boats fled the area. Based on AIS data, looks to be a cargo
vessel on route from Lagos to Port Harcourt, which sped up to 15kts when attacked.
ARC will update if any further information is released.
The threat remains offshore Nigeria. This is likely the same 2 speedboats that attacked a tanker on 2 December. Another attack within the next 48 hours is very likely.
