Event: Community Action – Flow-stations Shut Down
Date and Time: 0600hrs local, 15th August 2019
Location: Warri South West LGA, Delta State, Nigeria
Description: Members of communities, particularly women, surrounding Jones Creek, Odidi and Batan flow stations have shut down the station jointly operated by NPDC and Neconde Oil in OML 42. The communities
are demanding a hospital and payment of “entitlements” (local workers’ salaries).
The communities involved are:
- Kokodiagbene
- Okenrokoko
- Omadino
- Ekpemu
- Akpatagbegbe
- Odidi
- Kantu
- Batan
- Gbokodo Itsekiri
- Ajuju.
The protesters said they would remain at the flow-stations until told to leave by community leaders.
