Description: A bulk carrier on route to Owendo was approached by a speed boat. Report states that the bulk carrier vessel carried out evasive manouevres and the speed boat gave up the
approach.
UPDATE: Further information has reported that the
craft’s closest point to the vessel was 4nm, and therefore did not pose a security threat to the vessel.
Vessels in the area should still remain vigilant following the reports last week of possible pirate activity in the area around Sao Tome and Principe.
