Description: Whilst on route from Port Harcourt to Lagos, a tanker saw a speed boat with 5 or 6 persons onboard. The tanker raised the alarm via VHF Ch 16. The crew members
mustered except the bridge team which started evasive manoeuvres and increased the ship’s speed. The pirates attempted to board the vessel using a ladder with a hook, but failed. The tanker continued her course and the pirates gave up and left the area. Vessel
arrived at Lagos later in the night. All safe.
