Description: A containership on way from Lomé, Togo to Onne, Nigeria was attacked offshore Bayelsa on her port side (the side nearest the shore). The vessel raised the
alarm, increased her speed up to 19.5kts, activated fire pumps and carried out evasive manoeuvres. The attack failed and the vessel and crew are safe, with the vessel continuing her voyage.

It is likely the pirates are still in the area following this failed attack, so vessels should remain highly vigilant
