Description: Drifting merchant vessel was attacked by one speed boat with 7 persons on board. 1 tried to board the vessel but was seen by watchman on duty who raised the alarm. Pirate jumped back
into the skiff. Crew mustered in the citadel except Master, Chief Engineer and 3rd Officer. SSAS and distress alert systems activated, and evasive manoeuvres were conducted. The pirates aborted their attack and all crew and vessel safe.

 

Due to distance from shore, it is possible that a mother vessel was used to launch the attack.
