Priority Broadcast Alert – Europe and the Mediterranean

Russian forces conducted an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) attack on the port of Yuzhny, Odesa Oblast, Ukraine. Air raid sirens for Odesa Oblast were first activated at 21:32 UTC on 9 April and remained in effect until 04:13 UTC on 10 April. Video footage showed that the attack resulted in a fire. Ukrainian officials subsequently stated that the attack damaged energy and port infrastructure, including port equipment, an administrative building and empty storage tanks. No casualties or damage to merchant vessels were reported.<br/><br/>ADVICE: Vessels conducting Black Sea port calls are advised to conduct comprehensive dynamic voyage threat assessments. The crew is advised to remain within the designated Safe Muster Point (SMP) during UAV attacks on infrastructure. The SMP should be located above the waterline, amidships, and low down in the superstructure.
