Cyprus-based Intership Navigation and Interorient Shipmanagement have merged their shipmanagement activities into InterMaritime Shipmanagement.
The newly formed company, which will include Intership’s sister company Donnelly Tanker Management, will manage a fleet of over 170 vessels including tankers of all types, LPG carriers, bulkers, containers, multipurpose ships and other specialised tonnage.
InterMaritime will provide full-scope shipmanagement services, such as technical and crew management, procurement, catering, insurance, travel, chartering, and commercial operations.
“This merger represents a significant milestone in our journey as ship manager. The merger with our peers Interorient is a perfect match that allows us to combine our extensive experience and expertise, collective knowledge and resources, thereby enhancing our geographical footprint and service capabilities, aiming to deliver flawless and competitive maritime services to clients worldwide” said Dieter Rohdenburg, CEO of Intership Navigation and Donnelly Tanker Management.
“This merger is a testament to our shared values and vision for the future. Together, we are confident that InterMaritime Shipmanagement will set new industry benchmarks, delivering the highest standards of service and operational efficiency,” added Themis Papadopoulos, CEO of Interorient Shipmanagement.
Writing for Splash in June, Manish Singh from AboutShips anticipated substantial further consolidation over the next 12 to 18 months as several players come together to form larger shipmanagement consortia.
“This trend should be expected both with in-house owner-managers as well as independent shipmanagers,” Singh noted.
