1. The EU defines offshore ships for EU MRV reporting. From 1 January 2025, offshore ships above 400 GT are required to report GHG emissions data under the EU MRV regulation. The European Commission has adopted a Delegated Regulation defining which ship types fall under the category of offshore ships.

5. Kpler expands with Spire Maritime acquisition. Maritime data provider Kpler has acquired satellite-powered, global vessel tracking data firm Spire Maritime.

6. McDermott awarded decommissioning contract offshore Australia. Houston-based offshore contractor McDermott has secured decommissioning work for Santos offshore Western Australia.The contract worth between $50m and $250m covers engineering, procurement, removal and disposal of the Harriet Alpha platform and associated infrastructure.

7. Glomar secures multi-year vessel contract from TenneT. Dutch offshore support vessel player Glomar has revealed a multi-year vessel framework contract with Dutch-German transmission system operator TenneT. The deal covers the provision of fully equipped emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRVs) and safety standby vessels (SSVs) in the German sector of the North Sea.
