2. Greece, Turkey to keep talking on maritime boundaries agenda. Greece and Turkey still disagree on the extent of issues needing to be tackled over the designation of their maritime boundaries but talks will continue, the Greek and Turkish foreign ministers said after meeting on Friday, according to Reuters.

3. Panama to cancel flags on four US-sanctioned LNG vessels. Panama’s Maritime Authority said on Wednesday it has begun a process to cancel flag registrations on four LNG vessels sanctioned by the United States over their links with Russian gas producer Novatek.
The vessels – North Air, North Mountain, North Way and North Sky – are managed by UAE-registered White Fox Ship Management.
The four switched to Panama’s flag registry earlier this year from Singapore, according to maritime database Equasis.

4. Trafigura signs long-term natural gas agreement with NuVista Energy Ltd. Trafigura, a market leader in the global commodities industry, has signed a long-term natural gas agreement with NuVista Energy Ltd. (“NuVista”) (TSX: NVA), a leading producer of condensate-rich natural gas in the Montney formation in the Alberta Deep Basin, Canada.

5. IMO heads to COP 29 to promote net-zero framework for shipping. Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez will lead IMO’s delegation to the annual UN Climate Change Conference (COP 29) to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11 to 22 November 2024.
The 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will bring together world leaders along with an estimated 40,000 delegates representing governments, civil society and the private sector for discussions on how to address climate change.

Russian, Indonesian Navies Hold Joint Counter-Terrorism Drills.  Russian and Indonesian ships practiced freeing a vessel captured by terrorists and fought unmanned boats during the first joint naval exercises between the two countries in the Java Sea, Russia’s RIA state news agency reported on Monday.
