1. Labor strikes shut down operations at Canada’s container ports from East to West Coast, with U.S. trade left in limbo. Key ports on Canada’s West Coast, including its largest container port in Vancouver and the Port of Prince Rupert, were shut down by a labor strike on Monday.
The International Longshore and Warehouse Union Ship & Dock Foreman Local 514 began striking on Monday morning, stopping containers and cargo immediately. According to the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, $800 million in trade flows through West Coast ports every day.

The original 2007 At-Berth Regulation applied to container ships, passenger ships and refrigerated-cargo ships at certain California ports. Compliance with the 2007 regulation started in 2014.

6. Stainless Tankers readies double sale. Stainless Tankers of Norway has moved to offload two of its nine vessels. The Oslo-listed outfit backed by UK-based Tufton Investment Management is selling the 2005-built J19 stainless steel units Monax and Marmotas – the oldest in its fleet.

7. Seaway 7 wins cabling work on East Anglia Two offshore wind farm. Seaway 7, the renewables unit of Oslo-listed Subsea 7, has won a contract from ScottishPower Renewables for the transport and installation of the inter-array cables of the East Anglia Two offshore wind project.

8. Noble bags UK semisub extension from Shell. Noble Corporation has secured a two-well extension from UK supermajor Shell for the semisub Ocean Endeavor in the UK North Sea.The contract at an undisclosed dayrate will keep the unit fixed until June 2025 or approximately 130 days, and includes options for two more wells.

10. Ukraine Says Drone Strike Hits Port in First Caspian Sea Attack. Ukraine said a drone strike hit a naval base in a port city on Russia’s Caspian Sea coast, in Kyiv’s first-ever attack on a target in the region some 1,500 kilometers (930 miles) from the frontline.
