1. Israel Bombs Yemeni Port, Power Stations After Houthi Attacks. Israeli fighter jets bombed a seaport and several power stations in Yemen, its military said Sunday, following a string of attacks this month on central Israel by Iran-backed Houthi rebels.
The strikes in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah and in Ras Issa targeted oil infrastructure, the Israeli army said in a statement. There was no immediate word on any casualties.

2. Ports Brace for Shutdown as U.S. Dockworker Strike Deadline Nears. Key industry and government officials are urging US dockworkers and their employers to avoid a strike at East and Gulf coast ports this week, though many facilities are already bracing for a shutdown. 
“We are coordinating with partners across the supply chain to prepare for any potential impacts,” said Steve Burns, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the nation’s busiest Atlantic gateway for containers. “We urge both sides to find common ground and keep the cargo flowing for the good of the national economy.”

4. China Intensifies Naval Drills Following High-Level Talks With Blinken. Chinese air and naval forces are conducting maneuvers in a disputed area of the South China Sea, the military said on Saturday, hours after the country’s top diplomat discussed ways of reducing regional tension with his U.S. counterpart.The news comes after Australia and the Philippines said their militaries would hold a joint maritime activity with Japan, New Zealand and the United States in the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines.

5. Qatar discussing big LNG Carrier orders worth of $5 Billion with South Korean Shipbuilders. Twenty LNG carriers for Qatar’s upcoming liquefied natural gas (LNG) project are likely to be built in Korea. Qatar Energy, a state-run energy company for the project, is in talks with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE), Hanwha Ocean, and Samsung Heavy Industries to build LNG carriers worth a total of $5 billion.

6. Growing support for Shipping’s Greenhouse Gas Levy and Fuel Standard must be matched by Action On Energy Efficiency during next week’s IMO meeting. 7. Russia forecasts ‘serious’ oil growth demand potential to 2050. Russia expects “serious” growth potential in global oil demand through to 2050 and is ready to supply additional barrels, its Deputy Energy Minister Pavel said.
Sorokin said that Russia did not want to flood the market if there is no need, adding that production costs are set to increase as more oil will be harder to extract.

The guidance was jointly developed by BIMCO, ICS, INTERCARGO, INTERTANKO, and OCIMF. It provides detailed recommendations for ship operators and masters on enhancing security measures and responding to potential threats in the region.

9. IMO negotiations continue crucial to Maintain Momentum. Negotiations about IMO regulations, which are planned to be adopted next year, are continuing at a meeting in London. Danish Shipping is present and working hard to secure, among other things, support for a pricing mechanism that can reduce the price gap between fossil and green fuels.
